Trig Day 2

Example #1:

$sin\theta+1=3 sin\theta$

first you want to subtract a sine from both sides

$1=2sin\theta$

next you want to divide both sides by two and then take the inverse sin of both sides

$sin^1 \frac{1}{2}=\theta$

The equations that produce answers for this are

$\frac{\pi}{6}+2\pi n$

$\frac{5\pi}{6}+2\pi n$

Example # 2

$tan\theta=\sqrt{3}$

Make sure you find ALL solutions, not just going once around the unit circle.

$\theta=tan^1 \sqrt{3}$

Solution

$\frac{\pi}{3}+\pi n$

Notice that it is only 1 pi instead of 2 THIS IS FOR TANGENT ONLY
